The Deccan is a peninsular plateau located in central India that includes inland sections of the states of Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka. Its name is derived from the Sanskrit daksina meaning “south”. The Deccan is home to many languages and people. Bhil and Gond people live in the hills along the northern and northeastern edges of the plateau, and speak various languages.

Day Wise Plan

Day 01:  Arrive – Bombay

Welcome to India – a country where hospitality is a way of life; to a culture steeped in tradition, a land where history lives in music and dance. You will be received at the airport in a traditional manner and transfer to the hotel.

Overnight in Bombay.

Day 02: Bombay – Aurangabad

Morning after breakfast go for half day city tour with visit to Crawford market,  University building, Town hall. Later transfer for flight to Aurangabad.

Day 03: Aurangabad

Morning after breakfast ,we take you for a full day sightseeing including 2nd century Ajanata and Ellora Caves built by Buddhist monks and have beautiful frescoes.

Day 04 :  Aurangabad – Hyderbad    (overnight train)

After a healthy breakfast, the morning tour of the city includes  Bibi-ka-Maqbara, Pawanchakki.  Later transfer to Rly. Stn to board the train for Hyderbad. On the outskirts of the city is the Secunderbad Stn. of Hyderbad which is much larger in comparison to Hyderbad Stn.

Day 05:  Arrive – Hyderabad

Greet and meet by our representatives at the Rly Stn and transfer to Hotel. Afternoon tour of the city takes you to Salarjung Museum, Charminar, Mecca Masjid, Laad Bazzar and Hussain Sagar Lake.

Day 06: Hyderbad – Bidar – Gulbarga (220 kms/3.5 hrs)

After breakfast, leave for Gulbarga via Bidar.  The name of Bidar appears to be derived from ‘bidiru’ which means bamboo. The place seems to have been known for bamboo clusters in the past .At Bidar visit with Rangin Mahal, Sola Kamabah Masjid, Gagan Mahal, Madrasa of Mahamud Gawan.

Day 07: Gulbarga – Bijapur (145 kms/ 2 hrs)

Morning tour of Gulbaraga a unique synthesis of two cultures. GULBARGA was known as ‘KALBURGI’ in former days which means stony land in Kannada. Gulbarga district is situated in the northern part of Karnataka State  Start you tour with Fort, inside the fort is Jumma Masjid, Khawaja Bande Nawaz, Dargarh Library.

Day 08: Bijapur – Badami (135 kms/1.40 hrs)

After breakfast, Gol Gumbaza is the first thing that is associated with city of Bijapur.  Apart from that visit Ibrahim Roza, Jumma Masjid.  Later drive down to Badami enroute visit Aihole famous as the “cradle of Indian architecture”, Aihole has over 100 temples scattered around the village.

Day 09: Badami – Hospet (128 kms/1.30 hrs)

The capital of the early Chaulkyas, Badami is picturesquely situated at the mouth of a ravine between two rocky hills.  Badame is famous for it’s four cave temples. Leave for Hopset and enroute stop at Pattadakal situated on the bank of the Malarapbha river has ten major temples representing early Chalukyan architecture.

Day 10:  Hospet – Hampi – Hospet

A base to take a tour of Hampi or Vijayanagara, one of the largest empires in the history of India – in ruins.  Explore the ruined kingdom and return back to Hospet.Predating the city of Vijayanagara, it continues to be an important religious centre, housing the Virupaksha Temple, as well as several other monuments belonging to the old city. The ruins are a UNESCO world  Heritage site, listed as the Group of Monuments at Hampi.

Day 11: Hospet – Dandeli (181 kms/3 hrs)

Morning leave for Dandeli National Park. The calm and peaceful National Park is reputed as the largest wildlife Sanctuary in Karnataka. Overnight at the Lodges. In the evening jungle excursion to the park.

Day 12: Dandeli

Early morning and early evening jungle excursion to the park.The forest of Dandeli is typically moist,deciduous and semi ever green types.  In the free time watch the wildlife show and explore your surroundings.

Day 13: Dandeli – Goa -Bombay/Delhi (Departure)

Drive down to Goa and reach in time to take a connecting flight to Bombay or Delhi with some best memories to be cherished for life time.
