Trip Highlights

Gujarat Textiles and Handicrafts reflect a love of color, an eye for design and form. They are the look of an initial artistic qualities and rich cultural heritage. The state excels in both quality and design of textiles, customary and recent. The larger variety mills are joined to produce a rich mingling of colours and textures. The widest range of woven fabrics is found in the resist technique. These varieties from Patola, double Ikat, to the Bandhej tie and dye the woven Mashru and the resist or reserved printing on cotton and silk.


Ahmedabad: Calico Museum, Wooden Block, Block Printing, Sheryas Museum.
Dasada: Patola Weaving, Mushroo Weaving, Rani ki Vav. Sun Tempel at Modera
Bhuj: Dhamadka & Bhujodi village, Kutchi Rabari Embroidery, NGO Shrujan, Sumrasar village
Hodka: Meghwal, Muthwa, And Nirona Village
Mandvi: Mochis Embroidery.


Day Wise Plan

Day 01: Arrive – Ahmedabad

Meet upon arrival and transfer to the hotel Cama for overnight stay.
Overnight Hotel- Ahmedabad.

Day 02: Ahmedabad

Mornig after breakfast proceed for sightseeing begin with Heritage walk of the city. Visit Calico museum, Back to hotel for Lunch. Post Lunch drive to Paphapur (26 kms) to see wooden block making for block printing . Later visit Kalamkari and Block Printing by the community called Chitaras here you can try your hand on Kalamkari and block printing. Later also visit Sheryas Museum.
After dinner visit the night market at Law garden.
Overnight Hotel- Ahmedabad.

Day 03: Ahmedabad- Dasada (270 kms/6hrs)

After the breakfast proceed to Dasada via Patna.
Visit Adalaj step well followed by F/D excursion to Patan, to visit Patola weaving and Mushroo weaving center and Lunch, on the way visit Rani Ki Vav. Drive to Sun Tempel at Modera. Proceed to Bajana Village near Dashada and over night at Royal Safari Camp.

Day 04: Dasada- Bhuj (320 kms/6-7hrs)

After an early breakfast proceed for the Bhuj. En route, stop at Dhamadka village and try block printing. In the afternoon arrival at Bhuj and check in at hotel Prince . After the lunch go for the permit to the collector’s office. In the evening visit Bhujodi village to see the Kutchi Rabari embroidery and also visit weaver family.
Overnight Hotel- Bhuj.

Day 05: Bhuj

Morning after breakfast proced to visit Ali Mohammad for try tie and dye work. Post lunch visit NGO Shrujan and walk at Bhuj Bazzar.
Overnight Hotel- Bhuj.

Day 06: Bhuj

Morning visit Dhaneti village for Ahir work. Then visit workshop to see single Ikkat work near Bhuj. In the afternoon visit Banni area and ater visit Sumrasar village for NGO Kala Raksha. After dinner visit at A.A.Wazir to see the textile collection.
Overnight Hotel- Bhuj.

Day 07: Bhuj-Hodka (120 kms/4hrs)

Proceed to Hodka, en route visit village of Meghwal and Muthwa, and Nirona village. upon arrival check in at Sham – E – Sarhad for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 08: Hodka-Mandavi (110 kms/4hrs)

Proceed to Mandavi to see Mochis embroidery . Upon arrival check in at Mandavi Beach Resort. Afternoon free at leisure. Overnight stay at resort.

Day 09: Mandavi – Bhuj (60 kms/2hrs)

Bhuj – Mumbai
Morning after relaxed breakfast proceed to Bhuj. Lunch at Bhuj. Post lunch transfer to Domestic airport to board flight for Mumbai . You will be received by the Shikhar Travel representative at the Mumbai airport and then take you to Hotel Kohinoor Continental for overnight stay.

Day 10: Mumbai (Departure)

After ans early breakfast proceed to international Airport to board flight for the onward destination.
