In the 19th century the Lourdes Church was built in Trichy, an exact replica of the Basillica of Lourdes (France). The feast of our Lady of Lourdes is held here on 11 February. A procession is part of the celebrations. Trichy is therefore a place visited by followers of all faiths including tourists.
