Overview
The Aoleang Monyu Festival, also known as the Aoleang Festival, is a present and popular cultural celebration hosted by the Konyak Naga tribe in Nagaland, India. This celebration celebrates the coming of spring and the start of the Konyak New Year, usually celebrated in the first week of April.

Day 1: Delhi
Arrive Delhi by flight Welcome to India- a country where hospitality is a way of life; to a culture steeped in tradition, a land where history lives in music and dance. You will be received at the airport in a traditional manner with garlands and proceed to your hotel.
Overnight in Delhi.
Day 2: Delhi – Guwahati – Kaziranga
After breakfast, transfer to the airport to board the morning flight to Guwahati.Up on arrival at Guwahati airport in the afternoon meet and assistance by our representative and straight drive to Kariranga.
Kaziranga National Park is spread over 850 sq kms across Golaghat, Nagaon and Sonitpur districts. Kaziranga National Park is also designated World Natural Heritage sites by UNESCO in 1985. Originally established as a reserve forest in 1908, Kaziranga was declared a sanctuary in 1916 to counter excessive poaching, especially of its most prized inhabitant, the rhinoceros.

Day 3: Kaziranga
Early in the morning – elephant safari (a best chance to get close to rhinos).
After breakfast, go on a Jeep safari. We will cross the savanna, wetlands, and moist deciduous forest. A great chance to observe many species of birds and mammals typical to this area.

Day 4: Kaziranga – Tezpur – Nameri
After breakfast at hotel checkout and drive to Tezpur and further to the area of Nameri National Park.
After noon enjoy a nature walk in the Park and in case of being lucky – a possibility to observe a tiger.
Note: Nameri National park is famous for bird watching there are very few chances that you will find a Tiger. There would not be any safari like jeep or Elephant Safari in the jungle. Guest have to walk in the jungle with our expert naturalist and forest guard)

Day 5: Nameri – Dirang
After breakfast checkout from hotel start our journey to Dirang in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. This region is located near the border with Bhutan and Tibet. After breakfast drive to Dirang, en-route visit Asia’s second largest Orchidarium at Tipi where one can have a quick look over 7500 orchids from a collection of about 300 species. Arrival in Dirang, that is home for Monpa people and a visit at Dirang Dzong (Dirang Fort) and Dirang Monastery (if time permits). A walk around the local market if time permits.

Day 6: Dirang – Tawang
After breakfast heck out from the hotel and drive to Twang. A few stopovers at Sela Pass (13,700 ft), Jaswantgarh Memorial & Nuranang Water Falls to admire the landscape and to take some great pictures.

Day 7: Tawang
Morning after breakfast visit of 400 years (17th century) old, Tawang Monastery which is the second largest monastery in the world after Potala Palace in Tibet. The building is about 113 feet longand 80 feet wide and houses valuable antiquities, books and manuscripts-handwritten and printed.
Later visit Gyangong Anigompa Nun Monastery. Later visit Indo-China War Memorial- a 40 foot high multi-hued memorial, has a structure constructed in stupa design. Dedicated to the martyrs of Sino-Indo War held in 1962, this memorial is nestled among beautiful peaks, which overlooks the Tawang-Chu valley. If time permits visit Local Market.

Day 8: Tawang – Bomdila
Morning after breakfast drive to Bomdila – the headquarters of the West Kameng District of Arunachal. On arrival visit Local market & Old Bomdila Monastery.

Day 9: Bomdila- Tezpur
After breakfast drive to Tezpur-City of Blood. Tezpur is also considered the cultural capital of Assam. The town has produced many stalwarts such as Dr. Bhupen Hazarika & the former speaker of the Indian Parliament, Somnath Chatterjee.
Late afternoon visit Mahabhairab Temple, is believed to have been built by King Banasura himself. The Puranas state that Banasura was the first person to worship the linga form of Shiva. The Presiding deity, Mahabhairab, is a fierce incarnation of Shiva.

Day 10: Tezpur – Ziro
Full-day drive to Jiro (usually spelled and pronounced as Ziro by majority of people) in the Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh, the plateau of Apatani Tribe (There are currently no known written records of the history of the Apatani tribe, although it is speculated that, throughout their history, the Apatani had a democratic system of running the society. The village council was known as the Bulyang. They are of Tibetan origin; their language belongs to the Tibeto-Burman family. Most Apatanis are loyal followers of the Donyi-Polo faith, who pray to an array of spirits and souls for blessing. When a misfortune occurs, they believe that it is caused by certain spirits, and thus they make appeasement sacrifices of chickens and Mithuns. The dress of the Apatanis is elaborate and colorful, yet simple in style. Tattooing and the stuffing of large nose plugs were once popular among the women. Originally, this practice started because the women wanted to look unattractive to males from neighboring tribes. En route, visit some Nishi Tribal Villages, the largest tribes (population wise) in Arunachal Pradesh. Arrive Ziro in the evening and check-in at your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 11: Ziro
An excursion to Hang – the biggest tribal village in Asia, inhabited by Apatani tribe. Later visit the view point at Old Ziro. Sightseeing of Ziro (visit local market & Arunachal Pradesh State museum).

Day 12: Ziro – Majuli
After breakfast at hotel drive to the river island of Majuli. (approx. 280 kms 7-8 hrs Drive.) Majuli is the largest fresh Water mid-river deltoid island in the world. It is situated in the upper reaches of the river Brahmaputra in Assam. This Island, with a population of 1.6 Lakhs, majority being tribal, is endowed with rich heritage and has been the abode of the neo-vaishnavite culture. The island is a bio-diversity hotspot and has rich ecology with rare species of flora and fauna.
Majuli for the past five centuries has been the cultural capital of Assam. The main depositories of cultural and spiritual heritage are the Sattras, which are just like Gurukul (hermitages) of yore. Here up to 400 celibates’ stay for life preserving spiritual and cultural heritage, renouncing worldly desires. From the time of the great Vaishnavite renaissance of 14th and 15th century AD, under Srimanta Sankardeva, Srimanta Madhab Deva and other saints this island became the seat of Vaishnavite religion, art and culture. The famous Satriya Nritya (Dance) and Ankiya Bhaona (Traditional Drama) created by Sankardeva are now Internationally acclaimed and Nationally honoured. Majuli is equally famous for Tribal Folk Culture and Heritage. It is said to be the cradle of Missing and Deori cultures. Explore in and around Majuli.

Day 13: Majuli – Sivasagar
Morning Sightseeing of a few satras. Later in the morning board a Ferry to Nimatighat and drive to Sivasagar, On arrival straight proceed for sightseeing: Talatal Ghar, Joysagar & nearby temples, Rang Ghar, Shivadol Temple.
Sivasagar was the capital of the Ahom rulers from 1228 to 1826 AD. Sivasagar got its present name from Sivasagar Tank, excavated by the Ahom queen Ambika. The tank was named after her husband, Shiva Singha. Sivasagar tank is also known as Borpukhuri, literally, big lake. Shiva Dol, Vishnu Dol and Devi Dol are the three temples on the banks of Sivasagar.

Day 14: Sivasagar-Mon
After breakfast drive to Mon, en route visit Tea garden and Phuktong Village. On arrival Mon, visit local market and report to Police station.
Note: As per the rule all the guest has to report at police station for registration. Our guide will be there to assist all the guest during their visit to the police station in Mon, however all the guest has to be present with their passport and visa. Same way when guests are leaving the village then again they have to register themselves at the police station.

Day 15: Mon – Longwa – Mon
After breakfast visit Longwa Village bordering India and Burma. Situated about 40 km from the district headquarters of Mon. Longwa is one of the biggest villages in the district. Some portion of this village lies in India and some in Myanmar. However, it is controlled by a chief known as Angh. Half of the house of the chief falls in India and the other half in Myanmar. The lucky villagers have two citizenships, one from India and the other one from Burma. It is the place where coal mine was discovered in 1907. A visit to the village will acquaint you with the culture of the tribe. They are skilled in making exquisite handicrafts.

Day 16: Aoling Monyu Festival

Day 17: Mon – Dibrugarh
After breakfast checkout from the hotel and drive to Dibrugarh, en route visit a tea plantation (one of many that can be found throughout the state of Assam).
Dibrugarh, Tea city of India, it owes its moniker to the fact that it serves as the gateway to Dibrugarh, Tinsukia and Sivasagar, the three districts which produce almost 50% of Assam tea.

Day 18: Dibrugarh – Delhi – Warsaw
Morning after breakfast checkout from the hotel and drive to airport en-route visit the local market and transfer to airport.
On arrival at Delhi airport meet and assistance by our representative and transfer to international airport to board the flight for onward journey.
