The Golden Chariot
— South India’s Regal Rail Journey
Discover the soul of South India in pure luxury aboard the Golden Chariot. With themes inspired by dynasties like the Cholas, Hoysalas, and Vijayanagar empire, the Golden Chariot weaves a spectacular journey through ancient temples, palaces, coastal towns, and vibrant cultures.
The Golden Chariot was launched in 2008 by the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) in collaboration with Indian Railways. Named after the iconic Stone Chariot of Hampi, the train was envisioned to showcase the rich history, natural beauty, and diverse cultures of South India through a luxury rail experience. It remains South India’s only luxury tourist train and a true journey back in time.
