Golden Chariot

The Golden Chariot is an outstanding luxury train that provides a peek into the essence of South India. A Golden Chariot experience is everything a dream vacation should be and more, with the ideal balance of adventure and luxury.

The Golden Chariot is undeniably the most opulent train in South India, with its spectacular decor, exquisite service, and customised itineraries. The train is built for modern, day kings and queens, and is inspired by India’s regal culture.

The Golden Chariot Train travels through bustling towns, tranquil hamlets, pristine villages, and all South India’s natural marvels.  The Golden Chariot has three journeys, all centered around South India. All three journeys start & end at Bengaluru but cover different destinations across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Goa & Kerala. The Pride of Karnataka with Goa, and the Jewels of South, are both 6 night/7 days programs. While ‘Glimpses of Karnataka is a 3night/4 day program.

The destinations along the Golden Chariot path were chosen to highlight the region’s architecture, culture, and history. The southern peninsula’s unusual location, flanked on three sides by the Arabian Sea in the west, the Indian Ocean in the south, and the Bay of Bengal in the east, saw various dynasties with commercial and political links to both the west and east. You get to visit unique destinations such as Bengaluru, Bandipur, Mysore, Halebidu, Chikamgaluru , Hampi, Pattadakal & Aihole, Goa, Mahabalipuram, Thanjavur and Chettinad, Cochin, Kumarakom .

On your journey, marvel at one of India’s largest and most romantic palaces, the Mysore Palace, and wander through Chikkamangalur’s coffee plantations. Discover Hampi’s Hidden Treasures and marvel at Portuguese architecture in Goa.

The train is like an ethereal palace on wheels in India, with antiques, regal furnishings, unique handicrafts, and beautiful paintings. But the fact that it is equipped with modern, state-of-the-art amenities makes this train much more comfortable.

LCD TV, writing desk, closet, attached bathroom, personal attendant, safety lockers, and other amenities are available as add-ons to each cabin. While these amenities ensure that passengers travel in the most comfortable manner possible, the train staff works tirelessly to ensure that each passenger’s journey is one to remember.

Meals are served in two dining cars that were modeled after the temples of Hampi and Halebid. There is a Cigar Bar Lounge, too, for those who smoke, that’d been modeled after Mysore Palace. The train has a gym and offer onboard massages  for relaxation.
