Best time to visit Jaisalmer
The ideal time to visit Jaisalmer is between December and February. The months of November and March are also good to visit when the days are warm and nights are cool. The months between April and August are the hottest months and should be avoided.

- Jaisalmer Fort
A massive yellow sandstone fort that was built in the 12th century contains magnificent temples and gateways. Over the past few centuries, this monument has endured umpteenth battles and still never fails to amaze the tourists. Also known as the ‘Sonar Quila’ or the Golden Fort, it is constructed from the finest quality of yellow sandstone and adds to the lists of the Rajputana pride.
- Gadsisar Lake
This manmade lake was built under the orders of Maharwal Gadsi Singh in the 1400 AD. It was then built to solve the prevailing water scarcity problems. But such is its beauty that now tourists from all over the world come just to seek tranquillity that prevails in the ambiance of this lake.
- Patwon Ki Haveli
The patron ki Haveli is an architectural wonder which comprises of 5 different but all beautiful, Havelis under a single roof. Visit the museum containing rare and ancient artifacts to be spellbound and then if you still have time admire the intricate carvings and murals found all over the place.
- Sam Dunes
Located on the outskirts of Jaisalmer, you can best feel the essence of the Thar Desert from here. You can ride on camels or even stay overnight in any of the luxurious camps. October to March is the best time to visit Sam Dunes, with the Desert festival being held there during February.
